How do I sign my return?
When you e-file your federal tax return on TopTaxSites, form 8453-OL must be printer, signed and mailed to the IRS once you e filed return has been acknowledged.
Already filed my federal tax return, what about my state return?
You can do your state return and e filed it with your federal return. A state return can not be e-filed by itself. If you already have e-filed your federal return on TopTaxSites, then your state return can still be added and e filed but it must be printed and mailed to your state.
In order to print and mail your state return to your state, follow the following steps:
- Login to your Account
- Select the federal return and Review a Completed Return
- Click the Questionnaire link
- Select your state under the questions for State Tax Return Preparation
- Click the Save button
- Complete your state worksheet
- Click the Recalculate button
- Click the Preview Return link at the bottom of the page to view and print the state tax return.
What should I do if my return was e-files and acknowledged with errors?
You can amend a 2003 federal return that was e-filed and acknowledged by the IRS. To amend your state tax return, please contact your state tax authority for guidelines in amending all state tax returns filed.

Will mailing form 8453-OL slow down my refund?
No, sending your signature form (8453-OL) will not delay your refund. However, if you do not send form 8453-OL to the IRS you may not be allowed to e-File next year.
